VTW Spring Showcase
It all began with an idea from VTW cofounder, Bethany Andrews-Nichols, to create a “science fair-like” event for small businesses owned and led by women+ in the Green Mountain State.
Over the course of planning this exciting event, we described the concept as a unique blend of Moth Story and TEDTalk—two well-known and familiar staged events—providing an opportunity for presenters to share their personal journeys as business owners. This gathering aimed to focus on authentic storytelling rather than pitches, emphasizing the beginnings and aspirations of the presenters in a truly inspiring space. Study Hall, our former co-working office, generously offered their inviting space for our very first event. We conducted an open call for presenters, and to our delight, we ended up with a remarkable lineup of 20 speakers representing a wide variety of industries. Just two weeks before the event officially started, we were thrilled to announce that all tickets had sold out, resulting in a total of 90 eager attendees. The night turned out to be a tremendous success, as many individuals within the room began to share the captivating stories they had heard through word of mouth and across social media platforms. The energy in the room was nothing short of electric, and as a result, numerous new friendships were formed. Thus, Vermont Womenpreneurs came into being as a vibrant and supportive community.
